To verify an organization account appears to be as good as impossible, why those hoops for people?

I don’t know what “have personal” would mean in regards to the OpenAI API.

The only distinguishing feature to an organization’s “level” besides this ID verification is a rate limit tier, based on the amount you have been paying to OpenAI (and an undocumented “account quality” metric in the shadows based on account age, billing, not hitting safety triggers).

It shouldn’t be impossible to get an API key for applications you are developing.
If you are confused about where to generate an API key - after making your account ready by adding billing info, going through this verification if you want all API features like streaming and o3, and making a purchase of credits - that key generation is now part of “projects” in the platform.openai.com site, which is a container for authentication and selectable model and endpoint rights.

Yes, tried verification, after a while it said session expired. Exchanged 10+ emails with a bot that ‘escalated’ when I requested a new link, then told me that I had changed email address and other inaccuracies when in fact I had not. AI should not make these types of errors, they are extraneous.

FWIW: “have personal” means that is my account type.
