Thought: all traditional IT integration will soon be a thing of the past

I checked how ChatGPT can parse unstructured text into JSON or tables, it is amazing!

With this power all traditional IT integration will soon be a thing of the past. IT integration was built on the idea that different systems couldn’t naturally understand each other—they had to communicate in predictable, predefined ways to make things work. But with Generative AI, that’s all behind us. You can send any piece of text, and the AI will extract all the necessary information.

For example in Salesforce, we could already replace many of our current integration scenarios with something as simple as an email listener combined with Generative AI. Am I the only one who sees how huge this is?

That all sounds cool but what about when ChatGPT hallucinates? There is nothing here that can guarantee success across the board. It’s fun to think of the potential but in practice, the current product cannot accurately deliver what you are envisioning.

Agreed, right now it is more an experimental practice, not ready for Prod.
But AI is improving, plus in integration scenarios we know which input to expect (even if it is not structured), after some tests and prompt tune up, we have all chances to make it work reliable
