The "New responses will use GPT-3.5" message doesn't specify timezone

First time i’m getting this message, I don’t think I even sent 20 message in the last 3h wtf

Me too! And I didn’t prompt a lot today.

In my case, the message didn’t have a specific time: “New responses will use GPT-3.5 until your GPT-4 limit resets.”

Could you please tell me how long it will take to use it again? I had the same problem and, chagrin, it didn’t indicate the time

I’ve just discover this:

Are there any usage limits applied on my account?

ChatGPT Plus currently has a cap of 50 messages every 3 hours on GPT-4 and is capped at a 4k context.

Yesterdays one was around 6 hours today got hit by another indicating that this is a new type of timeout, which occurs as a additional to the red timeout, which also occur because today i had both the red timeout and also the new white timeout however todays white timeout was around 3 hours.

What I’m getting now is “New responses will use GPT-3.5 until your GPT-4 limit resets.” That’s what you call a “white timeout.” So in order to prevent that from happening, Do I need to ask no more than 20 messages in 3 hours? This is really, really bad. By the way, will the “white timeout” disappear on its own? I don’t want to wait for an unknown time. Thank you for your reply!!

Yup dissapears on it’s own and you will see it gone if a prompt is tested and it doesn’t automatically transition to 3.5 version.

I’ve encountered the same phenomenon as well. I’ve been aware that there’s a limit of 50 posts every 3 hours on ChatGPT4. When that limit is reached, it used to specify how long the usage restriction would apply. Today, after only 20 messages, I received the “New responses will use GPT-3.5” message for the first time. Not only am I dissatisfied with being unable to use it shortly after starting, but I also find it strange that it doesn’t indicate how long I need to wait, as it usually does when reaching the regular limit. I hope for improvements.

same here. i am really dissapointed. its just changes to 3.5 and all the image output is broken. not nice if you pay for it. besides, the gpt cant keep up with the discussion youve already made, i have to start again from the beginning. :-/

If I am correct in interpreting this, we might switch back to 3.5 based on increased traffic? So the limit doesn’t apply if traffic is high. Does that sound right?
