The future of OpenAI + OpenClaw: Anticipating secure local execution

I’ve been following the OpenClaw project closely, and after the OpenAI acquisition news, I can’t wait to see the first integrated results.

While the cloud capabilities are impressive, my main interest lies in running these agents locally. For many of us, the priority is maintaining data sovereignty and ensuring a secure execution environment. I’m particularly interested in how the team plans to implement robust sandboxing to prevent unauthorized system changes while still allowing the agent to be productive on our desktops.

A few questions for the community and the devs:

  1. Has there been any official word on the roadmap for a stable local release under OpenAI’s wing?

  2. Are there specific security protocols (like WebAssembly sandboxing or containerized environments) being prioritized for the local version?

  3. Realistically, when do you think we will see the first public beta or technical preview?

I’m ready to start testing as soon as a secure build is available!
