I try build a assistant GPT , But there is so strange limitation like max of files,
i get an error “Cannot upload more than 20 files” , or the file so large , or too many text , or format not supported, i don’t care !!
why i need to compress files , or combine tiny files , or split them , just for upload it ? why it not know to to it alone without third-party services .
someone can explain why i need take 100 pdf files and combine to one pdf?
or convert epub to pdf?
or compress large pdf ?
or split large pdf to 400 pages ?
Why do I need to fill car oil level to a specific amount?
Why do I need to drink a specific amount of water each day?
Why do I need to do a specific amount of reps and weight size to gain muscle?
Why does the base need to be so deep for a wall system? Why can’t I just lay it on grass?
It’s about efficiency. If you want a good experience then you need to follow these guidelines. Because, if you didn’t, the next post would inevitably be “Omg this service sux”
If they are too hard to follow, it’s fine, you can hire a professional to do it for you.
The “dirty work” is having a computer generate useful, human-like responses using your material within seconds. You should know how to convert epub to pdf, you should know how to split a PDF. You almost certainly do not know, or have the resources to perform the inference on it using a SOTA model comparable to GPT-x.
If you somehow did know, then you would probably perform this processing in the first place anyways.
The current GPT is not that attentive or that smart.
In the future, there may be an AI that can figure out how to split PDFs from vague instructions, but that is not the AI of today. It is the AI of the future.
