Thanks for sharing!

Good to know:

GPT-4 will still be available in the API.

But it’s probably time to start upgrading to the newer generation of models.

Real GPT-4 was gone November 2023.

“GPT-4” in ChatGPT has been gpt-4-turbo of some flavor.

There is no explanation about new message limits.

But I would like clarification on how message limits will be handled after the retirement of GPT-4 from ChatGPT on April 30, 2025:

  • Currently, Plus users can send:

    • 80 messages every 3 hours on GPT-4o
    • 40 messages every 3 hours on GPT-4
  • Once GPT-4 is retired:

    • Will Plus users be limited to only 80 messages every 3 hours on GPT-4o?

    • Or will the 40-message allocation from GPT-4 be transferred to GPT-4o, resulting in a total of 120 messages every 3 hours?

    • Or any third option?

Maybe they will update the info after April 30, 2025
