I currently have had a single chat for weeks now. I do not wish to start a new one since a lot was put into my current chat. I propose there’s a way to cut portions out of the chat so I can keep the same one going and rid myself of some useless excerpts.
Hey @Mdmamae, welcome to the community! This is a practical suggestion, especially for long-running chats where a lot of useful context has built up over time.
There isn’t currently a way to cut out specific sections of a conversation while keeping the rest of the same chat intact. The closest workaround is to ask ChatGPT to summarize the important context, then continue from that summary in a new chat or Project.
That said, being able to trim older or less useful parts of a chat without starting over would be helpful for keeping long conversations cleaner and easier to use. I can’t share a timeline right now, but I’ll pass this feedback along internally.
