I’ll keep it simple. Stepping down from the 200$ to 20$ plan creates a bug [I am assuming bug in good faith here] where the DeepResearch rate limit does not reset. Instead, the 30 day variable window [because it doesn’t appear to be fixed] carries over when stepping down. This isn’t clearly indicated in documentation if it is intentional. This creates a scenario where stepping down from pro to plus locks you out of DeepResearch use immediately [and other features, but the issue is only persistent on DeepResearch], because your usage from ‘Pro’ is carrying over to the ‘Plus’ plan more than likely.
What’s worse, is that the rate limit is now EXTENDING. ‘Resets in 10 hours’ then four hours later ‘resets in 12 hours’. Then, the next day? ‘Resets in 4 days’. This happened during the window of DeepResearch rate limits being increased. It’s so frustrating to get locked out of paid features that I’m actively paying for, because I’m not paying more anymore.
So what’s the result? I paid 200$ to get locked out of DeepResearch because of the way the system handles stepping down on your subscription price.
