Spelling Autocorrect for chatGPT Mac app version 26.715.21425 not working

Hi everyone. I don’t know if this is a bug or not (I hope it is), but in the latest version of chatgpt for Mac (version 26.715.21425), spelling autocorrect in the chat window no longer works.

I can’t find any settings to enable it and I’m wondering if there’s a workaround?

Yep. Gone for me too. This was on of the reasons I preferred it to Claude’s MacOS app, now it it is gone. In the end, I have just decided to not correct any spelling and let the app figure it out on its own. But sad that it is gone. Probably turned off for the coding side, where it might have been annoying. It should be an option to enable, and do so easily. Still works in ChatGPT Classic Macos app. Not sure why, never been able to get the bottom of it. Can’t get it working in Claude Macos app either.

Thanks for your reply. Sometimes I wonder if we’re actually going forward at all! Fair point about letting the app figure out the spelling mistake though.

Yeah, I’m sort of baffled with how OpenAI handled the macOS app redesign. It’s in general confusing to use if you don’t use it for coding purposes and the disappearing of features such as auto correct is a downer big time.
