Sora 2 Pro Moderation Block

Hello,

while trying to create a video for my son featuring his stuffed animals, I encountered the following system error: “Your request was blocked by our moderation system.”

This happened when using Sora 2 Pro via the API, but not when using Sora 2 Fast (API). The uploaded image was pixel art created by ChatGPT based on a real photo of the two toys, along with the prompt I used for generating it. The video is intended to be an intro for a homemade jump-and-run game I’m building for my son in Godot.

Do you have any idea what might be causing this error? Are there any workarrounds?

Thanks in advance.

PS: The stuffed animals are a teddy bear and a rabbit named Gunnar and Riby.

Welcome to the dev community, @GunnarAndRiby.

It could be that one or more of these characters are copyrighted, which is leading to a moderation block.

Quoting from the docs:

Guardrails and restrictions

The API enforces several content restrictions:

  • Only content suitable for audiences under 18 (a setting to bypass this restriction will be available in the future).
  • Copyrighted characters and copyrighted music will be rejected.
  • Real people—including public figures—cannot be generated.
  • Input images with faces of humans are currently rejected.

Make sure prompts, reference images, and transcripts respect these rules to avoid failed generations.

Thanks for your reply. I hope, ChatGPT wouldn’t create copyrighted material

And shouldn’t these guardrails be in place for both models?

Yes, those should definitely be the same for both models. I’ll confirm with the team and share an update here.

Hi thanks for the report, do you have a video_id for this error?

Hi @agamble

here is a video id 6983c2ba2b6481908d992d0239bd84ad011940cf922686b0

This time I got a moderation block for the sora 2 fast model.

The prompt is in English and was optimized by ChatGPT for Sora 2, with special care taken to remove any potential reasons for blocking.

It appears to be inconsistent. I generated the video three times with a nearly identical image; it worked twice, but the third attempt was blocked.
