Ah, I figured this out today!
You need to cancel the subscription on the same platform you used to start it.
So if you subscribed via the mobile, you have to cancel it through the mobile app - and not the website.
I was trying to cancel it on the site too, but turns out I originally subscribed through the app and forgot.
Maybe that’s what’s happening in your case.

Unfortunately this does not help. The error occurs because the folks at openai like it to be that way. Add 1000 hoops to jump through in order to cancel your subscription so that people don’t do it in time. Then just outright don’t let them cancel even if they jump through all 1000 hoops. Hide all traces of customer support and boom, you have a customer for life!
I’m having the exact same issue. I’m getting the same error when I try to cancel from my phone browser. And on the play store I don’t see the subscription at all. Did someone figure out how to solve this? This is incredibly frustrating !
i had the same problem , and i fixed it , i think you’re logging in in another gmail account , search for the gmail you used to pay the subscription , that’s my case i used mobile phone to pay the subscription , if you paid using browser or web it’s easy i think you will not face this problem at first
I had the same problem when cancelling. I’d accientally signed up with Google Play store on my phone and it was using an old Gmail workspace account that I’d deleted. The link below let me log in and unsubscribe even though the email address techincally didn’t exist anymore! Pretty cool!
