Shared Team Account for Solo Developers / Entrepreneurs / Indy Hackers / Individuals

I’m bringing over conversation from this thread.

It turns out there are a lot of solo developers, individual services providers, entrepreneurs, etc… who would like to access the benefits of Team but don’t want to pay $60 per month or $600 per year minimum (as you need at least two seats).

What we’ve done is created a shared Team account that anyone can join.

I am going to cover the extra $10 per month for each person to make it easy so you can still pay $20 per month but get a Team account. Any questions or thoughts to make this most beneficial for all, please add them here.

If you fit this and are interested, simply replay “I’m in” or DM me and I will send you an invite.

Enterprise starts at 150.

Related to ChatGPT Team size, a suggestion but not a limit.

I could not find a hard limit to the size of a ChatGPT Team.

:eyes:

Enterprise would be even better!

I’m interested though!

What’s the advantage to joining your team account vs my own personal account?

Difference between Plus and Team is here.

Team requires you to buy at least two seats ($60 per month minimum).

So this will allow individuals to get a Team account for the same price as Plus.

If you are part of a company or organization I would recommend getting your own Team account. But it looks like there are a lot of people like myself that are solo right now and actively using ChatGPT but want the benefits of Team.

The hard limit is 1000. (It won’t allow you to input any more than this when you are in the billing section.)

At a $108,000 starting fee to join, unless you are a secret millionaire, that won’t work out, but it would be better.

The higher rate limit that is mentioned is 100 messages every 3 hours.

Can you please provide a reference. :slightly_smiling_face:

Sorry, I got confused I updated my post with the actual number.,

$108,000 is double what is would cost paying monthly for Teams for the entire year with 150 users.
Why is that the cut-off point?

Also, is that figure an initial fee on-top of the actual subscription?

Here’s how Enterprise works: when you sign up, you must have a minimum of 150 users. Additionally, you are required to sign a year-long contract. Given that each seat costs around $60 per month, you end up with a base cost of $108,000 for the year. If you want to add more users, you’ll need to pay an additional $60 per user.

Got it, we should stick with the teams plan.

The reason for looking for a hard limit for ChatGPT Team was to know if a group wanted to grow at what point would they have to decide if they should split into another group, be more judicial with new members, expel some members, etc.

Knowing this before finding out the hard way with an email or such is just good management. :slightly_smiling_face:

Sorry to ask, can you provide a recent reference?

It seems it was noted on this page

but now just notes to contact sales so the price could be higher or lower.

I was thinking about this too. There may end up being additional Team accounts once we reach the cap of this shared Team Account.

So unfortunately we have to pause this effort.

There is a provision in OpenAI’s ToS that does now allow “reselling” seats in a Team account.

I have contacted OpenAI’s sales team to get guidance on how to proceed.

I need to get licenses for some of my clients so they can use the GPTs that I build for them, so I am hopeful there is a path here. But for now I have to pause this shared Team account. :frowning:

Just to clarify

The specific sentence you are noting is

You may not make account access credentials available to third parties, share individual login credentials between multiple users on an account, or resell or lease access to your account or any End User Account.

which is from paragraph 1.3 of

If that is wrong please let the moderators know so we can present the correct information.

Note: I am not an OpenAI employee only a moderator on this forum.

Yes that is the term that I saw. They may have some other method to resell licenses, or otherwise group together but I can not find it anywhere.
