As of today (March 13, 2026), every request to the Responses API with background=true is returning server_error. This happens regardless of model, tools, conversation state, or any other parameter.
Nothing else online is showing this error? Anybody else encountering this right now?

Thank you for reporting this. I tested it across several models but wasn’t able to reproduce the issue on my end.
If you’re able to share a few more details, such as the API call parameters and the request_id, that would be very helpful.
