Requesting Feedback on the AI-Powered Communication Platform "Wacon"

Title: Requesting Feedback on the AI-Powered Communication Platform “Wacon”

Hello, I’ve been thinking about an idea for an AI-powered platform called Wacon, which stands for “We Are Connected.” Wacon is a platform that aims to narrow differences of opinion and promote smoother and more objective communication between people.

Key Features of Wacon:

  1. AI-Assisted Conversations: As the manager of the conversation, AI helps organize both sides’ positions in a neutral position and leads the conversation more objectively.

  2. Real-Time Conversation Analysis & Feedback: Through Wacon, you can expect to understand each other’s positions more objectively on topics where there is disagreement and reduce the difference in opinion.

  3. Proposal of customized conversation style: Wacon presents objective solutions suited to each situation. By analyzing data from users’ past conversations, we provide optimal strategies to help others better understand each other and make better decisions.

Expected Benefits:

  • Wacon can help improve communication and foster mutual understanding in various settings such as workplaces, families, and online communities.
  • Wacon can help you understand each other’s positions more objectively on topics of conversation and reduce differences of opinion.
  • Without requiring participants to prepare objective data in advance, Wacon’s AI instantly provides relevant information, enabling more efficient and effective conversations.
  • In the long term, Wacon aims to build a better communication culture by reducing emotional conflict and fostering constructive dialogue.

Example of a Conversation Flow:

AI Manager: Hello! Today’s discussion topic is “What is the most delicious spaghetti sauce?.” Since User 1 started this conversation, they will share their thoughts first. User 1, what are your thoughts?

User 1: Classic tomato sauce is the best! Cream sauces are way too greasy, and I really don’t like them. Tomato sauce brings out the authentic flavor of spaghetti.

AI Manager: You believe that tomato sauce best brings out the authentic flavor, and you find cream sauce too greasy. Thank you for sharing. Now let’s hear from User 2.

User 2: Actually, I prefer cream sauce. It has a soft, rich flavor that goes really well with the pasta, and sometimes I find it even more appealing than tomato sauce.

AI Manager: User 2 enjoys the soft and rich flavor of cream sauce. User 1, what do you think about this?

User 1: (emotionally) I just don’t get it! Cream sauce is way too greasy. How can anyone like that?

AI Manager: I understand your point, User 1. Cream sauce can feel heavy, especially depending on how it’s prepared. Everyone’s tastes are shaped by their own experiences, so it’s completely valid that you feel this way. However, as User 2 mentioned, adjusting the ingredients can really make a difference. In fact, around the world, cream sauce is often balanced with fresh herbs or a splash of lemon to cut through the richness. For example, in Northern Italy, they often prepare cream sauces in a lighter, more refreshing way, which could change the overall flavor. With this in mind, would you be open to trying cream sauce again using this method? Sometimes trying a new approach can surprise us.

User 1: Hmm… hearing that it’s prepared that way globally, I think I might give it a try. Honestly, I’ve probably been sticking to my own methods for too long. It wouldn’t hurt to try something new for a change.

AI Manager: That’s a great attitude! It’s really encouraging to see you open to new ideas and perspectives. User 2, do you have anything else to add?

User 2: No, I think I’ve said enough. I’m happy with how the conversation went.

AI Manager: Wonderful! It seems like both tomato sauce and cream sauce have their own merits, and depending on how they are prepared, they can both be enjoyed in different ways. User 1, is there anything else you’d like to discuss?

User 1: No, I’m good. I’ll think about what we talked about today.

AI Manager: Great! I’m glad we had this discussion and that we were able to explore different perspectives. Thank you both for your input!

We’d Love Your Feedback!

What do you think of this idea? If you have suggestions for additional features or areas for improvement, please feel free to share your thoughts. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t want my conversation with a human to be filtered through an AI that strips all color away from it.

I don’t need an AI to facilitate a conversation between 2 humans, as I can understand these meanings myself.

RonaldGRuckus, while ‘self-understanding’ is important, I would like to clarify that AI does not filter conversations or distort their meaning.

AI’s role is simply to mediate conversations and provide objective information, without intentionally filtering out human emotions or nuances.

In particular, when the other party may not fully understand your intentions or may hold different opinions, AI can help objectively explain these differences and assist in narrowing the gap.

Facilitating understanding is not the goal itself but a function used as a means to achieve the primary goal, which is to reconcile different perspectives and promote smoother communication. Thank you again for your valuable input!

If this is meant to be a commercial venture, then it is better that you pin down some promising and relatively narrow application domains first, instead of jump right into building “a platform that promotes smoother communication” then try to look for applications. This is because the platform-first approach lacks focus and you could easily get lost in the process.

Thank you so much for your valuable advice, Kaihuchen! As I’m still in a learning phase, your insights are incredibly helpful to me. I see how starting with a specific industry could be effective in focusing efforts in the early stages. However, perhaps due to my own inexperience, I worry a bit about whether this approach might limit the perspective too much. I wonder if conducting internal and beta testing first, followed by a broader global open beta, might allow for more diverse feedback. I would be really grateful if you could share any additional thoughts or guidance on this.

First of all, you need to figure out your targeted use cases, and make sure that there are people who want to use it, and that you don’t have major competitors that you have no chance of competing with.

The idea of “AI-Powered Communication Platform” is too vague to go with, because there are already numerous messaging platforms that allow people to install AI-powered chatbots to do the kind of things you mentioned, and I don’t see that you have a chance to compete there unless your platform has something really special that they can’t easily copy.

Thank you once again for your valuable feedback, @kaihuchen ! I understand your concerns, especially with the wide range of AI-powered platforms focusing on communication and collaboration. However, I’d like to clarify how Wacon’s focus differs fundamentally from existing tools.

Many AI platforms today assist individuals or teams in managing tasks or improving productivity, typically enhancing human-AI interactions. Wacon, on the other hand, is designed to address a different challenge: human-to-human communication in the context of complex human relationships and interests.

When I mention ‘human-to-human communication,’ I’m referring to situations where multiple parties with differing perspectives, interests, or even cultural backgrounds need to communicate. Humans, by nature, often hold diverse opinions, even on seemingly trivial topics. Wacon’s AI isn’t focused on project management or assisting with tasks; instead, it steps in to help mediate and resolve conflicts that arise in these human interactions. For example, in scenarios where misunderstandings or differing viewpoints create challenges in communication, Wacon’s AI helps identify the root causes and offers suggestions to guide the conversation in a more constructive direction.

The goal of Wacon’s AI is to narrow differences in opinion and facilitate smoother communication, helping people naturally work towards resolving conflicts. Rather than simply focusing on optimizing workflows, Wacon aims to improve the overall quality of communication. As we continue refining this concept, we’re focused on exploring how it can positively influence human interactions

I see. What kind of people do you think will want to go to your Wacon platform in order to have their differences resolved? They are your target market, so it is vital for you to pin this down.

I used to dabble on a setup that allows several LLM chatbots to debate each other in order to sort things out. I guess this in spirit is somewhat similar to what you are trying to do, except that for me it is not about resolving people’s differences. I envisioned that it could be useful for something like: Investment Strategy Simulation, Financial Education and Training, Dynamic Investment Advisory Service, Content Generation Platform for Financial Media, etc., where the targeted users are investors and related industries. First, I have to start by saying that your research is truly amazing. Not only does it open up new possibilities in the financial sector, but I think it is a solution to a recent discussion in this community that "Restrictive ‘Thinking’ Limits Learning Potential ". In that discussion, it was argued that AI systems are limited in their ability to adopt non-mainstream positions due to their neutral and objective nature.

However, your approach shows a good way to overcome this limitation by allowing AI to take non-mainstream perspectives. This approach is particularly meaningful in that it expands the scope of truth that Wacon can explore in areas where it is difficult to address because it is objective.

While Wacon aims to facilitate communication and mutual understanding between users in an objective environment, your research explores areas where AI can simulate diverse and sometimes non-mainstream perspectives.

It seems to me that you are saying that Wacon should target a specific user base. Is it because of the robustness of the test? Or do you think it should only be used in a limited field?

It seems to me that you are saying that Wacon should target a specific user base. Is it because of the robustness of the test? Or do you think it should only be used in a limited field?

If you are doing Wacon for fun or for research, then you can do whatever you want. But if it is meant to be a commercial venture, then it is most likely that you will need to speak with investors at one point, and they are going to ask you lots of questions, such as:

  1. What problem are you solving?
  2. Who is your target customer?
  3. What is your unique value proposition?
  4. How big is the market opportunity?
  5. What is your business model?
  6. Who are your main competitors?
  7. How do you win against your competitors? What’s your moat?
    etc.

If you target specific fields, then you have a better chance of figuring out how to answer such questions. If you are going with targeting no specific type of users, then you are competing against almost all messaging platforms since they can add a bot plugin with similar features and crush you instantly, unless you have a very specific technology moat.

Hello Kaihuchen,

Thank you for your interest in Wacon. I would like to clarify our goals in the part you mentioned.

The core purpose of Wacon is to enable smoother communication. It is not a platform limited to a specific field or role, but rather a tool that facilitates natural conversations on various topics and in diverse situations. In other words, it’s not about specializing in a particular field, but about fostering more effective interactions between people. As I have emphasized before, we often don’t understand others as well as we think. Wacon’s aim is to make it easier for people to communicate and improve the flow of conversations, focusing on relationships and understanding each other better, rather than solving problems in a specialized field.

Based on this goal, Wacon targets global users. It’s designed as a universal communication platform that anyone can use, anywhere, regardless of industry or field. It works flexibly in any situation where communication is needed, supporting more intuitive and natural interactions beyond simple API-based functionality.

Wacon is not a problem solver in the traditional sense. Instead, it helps those who need smoother communication—whether they’re looking to connect with others, better understand the people around them, or find new friends who share similar thoughts.

Moving forward, Wacon will continue to focus on making communication between people more efficient and enriching. I hope this vision has been clearly conveyed, and if you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out at any time.

Lastly, I sincerely appreciate your kind responses every time.
