Requesting Access to GPT-4 Vision for Independent AI-Powered Desktop App

Hi,

I’m building a desktop application called ARTS (Art Records Tracking System) — a tool for visual artists and photographers to manage their portfolios, track SEO metadata, and now generate AI-powered image evaluations using GPT-4 Vision.

This is a funded OpenAI account (project key is active), and all API flow is working except that access to the gpt-4-vision-preview model appears restricted behind organization verification.

I’m not a large org, but I am a working photographer (Jim Witkowski Photography) developing a legitimate commercial product called Art’s Vault

I’d be grateful for a path forward — whether through an exception, Stripe verification, or something else — so that small indie developers like me can integrate advanced AI features into tools meant for niche markets.

Please let me know what the next step is.

That is an older model. Vision was incorporated in the newer multimodal models. Any model with the image icon in the model listing has vision (like gpt-4.1, gpt-4.1-mini, etc).

For using, you can follow the docs here.

ps: forgot to say, the model gpt-4-vision-preview itself was deprecated last year.

Thanks so much for your feedback and the referral to the explanation page. I can hardly put into words how useful that was. You’re a real hero.
