Request for Expanded Memory Functionality in ChatGPT

I have been using ChatGPT successfully as I take college courses while transitioning into a career in cybersecurity. The memory feature has been incredibly helpful, allowing the model to remember my preferences and past conversations, so I don’t have to repeat details each time. For instance, ChatGPT has been able to recall coursework topics and provide tailored responses without me having to re-explain what I’ve already covered. I was particularly impressed when it helped draft my resume for a summer internship, incorporating details from all the subjects I had studied.

However, I’ve now reached the memory limit and have had to start deleting memories. I rely on two types of stored memories: course-related information and personal details like my motivations and goals for returning to school. I wish I didn’t have to delete either type.

Is there a way to expand the memory capacity? Two possible solutions come to mind:

  1. Allow users to allocate space on their devices for memory storage that the model can reference.

  2. Offer a paid option for increased memory storage—I’d be willing to pay a nominal fee, such as $1 per month, to expand memory and optimize my experience with ChatGPT.

Thank you for considering these suggestions!
