Dear OpenAI Team,
I would like to suggest implementing a regional pricing policy for ChatGPT Plus in Brazil. Currently, the subscription costs $20 per month, which, given the current exchange rate, amounts to approximately R$105. This represents a significant portion of the Brazilian minimum wage, making the subscription unaffordable for many users who would like to use it regularly.
Companies like Amazon, Spotify, and Netflix have already adopted localized pricing for Brazil, adjusting their fees to the local economic reality. If OpenAI implemented a similar strategy, it could significantly expand its user base in the country, making AI more accessible and increasing its positive impact.
In my particular case, both my wife and I would like to subscribe to the service, but the combined monthly cost of over R$200 makes this impossible. A more affordable plan for emerging countries could benefit millions of users who rely on OpenAI’s technology for work, study, and productivity.
I appreciate your time and consideration, and I hope this suggestion can be evaluated.
