Regenerate Button vanished

Hey, I just realized the “Regenerate Response” button is missing from my custom GPTs, but it’s still available in regular chats. I used to rely on it to quickly tweak answers, but now it’s gone, and I have no clue why. I’ve been editing the original message and resending, but that doesn’t work the same way. Regenerating the response usually changes the algorithm, which helps adjust the parts I don’t like. Re-sending just repeats the original answer.

Is this some kind of permanent change, like how the edit button moved to the top of the chat bubble, or could it be a bug? Either way, it’s super frustrating.

Please fix this.

I have the exact same issue. Please, someone fix this.

Edit: Surprisingly, I am able to regenerate my custom GPT responses using the Android and iOS apps. However, this isn’t ideal as it disrupts my workflow on my desktop.

Yeah, in apps there is no option to return to previous responses, although it has regenerating option.

Has there been any progress on the problem?

It’s been like this for several days for me too, and it’s annoying to have to systematically edit and resending my message to get a different response. Because of the messages I leave the same and the ones I adjust, I’m getting lost in my chats, and it’s slowing me down a lot.

Same here. Came to check if there’s any progress yet. I haven’t used ChatGPT in the past 24 hours due to this. I theorize its because of the new Regenerate Response Button (including the new o1-preview and o1-mini model selector) in the regular (non-GPTs chats), hasn’t been implemented in the custom GPTs chats.

Let’s hope they fix it soon.

It is same for me. I cannot even work properly due to this. It slows me down and breaks my concentration. And it doesn’t seem to be fixed soon either.

The question is, does the toolbar still keep disappearing or the regeneration button just doesn’t look right? In the new update, the regeneration button no longer functions the same way. It now lets you switch GPT models from the 4o-mini to the 4o one. The 4o one is used for more detailed messages but it will run out and you are kept with the 4o-mini until the time is up when you can use the 4o model again.

In my case the toolbar is present and does not disappear. However, the regeneration option simply does not exist. There is no possibility to change the GTP model because I use a custom GTP, which uses a different model that 4o and 4o-mini, and so the new regeneration option simply does not exist.

Here is a screenshot of what appears on the mobile web version :

Hello Community! My Users are complaining that there’s no Regenerate Response button when using my GPTs. I’ve tried different browsers as well as my iPhone.

Interestingly, the button is present one regular GPT-4o, 4o-mini, and GPT-4 Chats. Its only unavailable on my custom GPTs.

Can we get a status update on this problem?

status.openai.com has not shown anything since it was first reported.

Is the missing regenerate response being worked on?

I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon or ever.

Same for me. I doubt it is an accidental problem. I see it as something that is done with the intention to limit the use of their systems without saying so… ChatGPT is getting more and more frustrating and the reality is that they don’t care about their customers’ satisfaction. At least they could implement a more transparent method to limit usage. By the way, if you need the regenerate button, it is because ChatGPT answer is bad… but some clever mind there has thought to add a bad user experience on top of its bad answers…
My complete switch to Claude is getting closer and closer.
