My account was migrated from pay-after-the-fact invoice to prepaid credit. The dashboard only shows me my old pay-after-the-fact invoices, and I cannot find the receipt for prepaid credit anywhere. The stupid support bot just repeatedly tell me to go to “https://platform.openai.com/account/billing” but this is clearly a dashboard UI bug not handling the migration correctly. Anyone facing the same issue?
Thanks for reaching out. This appears to require account-specific billing support, which cannot be handled safely on the Community Forum. Please contact support@openai.com from the email address associated with your account and include the details of the billing issue in that support request so the team can investigate. Please do not post payment, billing, account, or personal details here.
I already sent dozens of emails to support and it didn’t help.
Did you receive a Case ID (also referred to as a ticket number) from OpenAI Support? If so, posting it here so that OpenAI staff who see this topic can identify the existing support case and take a closer look.
There is no guarantee that the email address associated with your Discourse account is the same one associated with your API billing account. Providing the Case ID can therefore make it easier for OpenAI staff to locate the correct support request.
Note: I am not an OpenAI employee.
Hi and welcome to the community!
We have seen similar reports before, and I will escalate this to the team to take a look.
Thanks! Case Number: 12854568
OpenAI Support only tell me to go check whether i’m selecting the correct account (instead of my personal account) over and over again. Useless.
A FYI: monthly billing and its auto charges can happen throughout the start of the month; billing is spread out, and you only receive a normal invoice from a normal charge (or its attempt).
You can see in your own history getting hit with the charge/invoice for March on April 8 - and today is the 7th of the month, so it is not out-of-line to have not been billed yet for the prior month’s charges.
OpenAI doesn’t run monthly credit card charges through Stripe, a significant fraction of a billion dollars, all on the same day. Perhaps moving more organizations off arrears billing is meant to further distribute the charges randomly by credit purchases (besides the breakage profit and putting more liquidity in the OpenAI bank account).
Credit purchase can (or should be) seen as line items under credit grants - but they will be back-dated there to the end of the prior month, not corresponding to the actual purchase or invoice date.
The team has backfilled your billing history.
They are also investigating the root cause for a more general fix.
