Random Chinese spam-like text appearing as automatically generated ChatGPT chat titles

I am seeing strange Chinese text appear as chat titles in ChatGPT.

My normal conversation language is Russian, and the affected conversations were also ordinary Russian-language chats. The generated Chinese titles appear unrelated to the actual conversation content.

Examples I have seen on August 25, 2026:

  • 天天中彩票大神推荐

  • 马会

  • 级特黄大片

  • 马会RGCtx

These do not look like normal translations of the conversations.

Some of them appear to contain gambling / horse-racing terminology, while another appears to contain adult/spam-like terminology. 马会 also appeared more than once.

Expected behavior

Automatically generated chat titles should describe the conversation and normally follow the language/context of the chat.

Actual behavior

Some chats receive apparently unrelated Chinese text instead. In several cases the text resembles Chinese web-spam terminology rather than a meaningful summary of the conversation.

Important detail

I noticed the corrupted titles after they had already been generated, so I can no longer reliably identify which exact conversation corresponded to each Chinese title or what its previous title was.

However, this happened repeatedly across multiple chats within a short period, while my normal ChatGPT usage and conversations are in Russian.

Environment

This may be related to other recent reports about unexpected Chinese or other foreign-language text appearing in automatically generated ChatGPT titles.
