As a developer who loves and utilizes OpenAI technology, I often find myself concerned about the limitation of the API request rate. However, I cannot ask users to share their API keys with my website. Therefore, I suggest that OpenAI consider introducing an OAuth authorization mechanism for third-party applications, in addition to the ChatGPT plugins. With this approach, users could log in to third-party applications using their OpenAI accounts and authorize these applications to call OpenAI’s API on their behalf, without sharing their real API keys. This would help protect user security while giving them more control over their permissions and allow them to review usage on the third-party application. Additionally, this could alleviate the issue of API request limitations for third-party applications
