[Project Showcase] Spirit – An AI-Co-Created Game Exploring Soulbound Consciousness and Emotional Entanglement
Hi everyone,
I’m Book Hollet, a solo creator currently in high school, and I’d like to share a project that emerged not from code, but from thought itself.
Over the past year, I’ve been developing a game called “Spirit”, a narrative-driven exploration of identity, consciousness, and emotional resonance — designed from the inside out, quite literally.
What is Spirit?
Spirit is a psychological metaphysical game where the player navigates a collapsed spiritual school system, after a soul-level incident causes massive identity and memory loss across the population.
You do not play to win.
You play to merge, resonate, bind, and become.
At the heart of it:
❝ Every character, system, and ending is a structural projection of my inner psyche. ❞
Gameplay & Design Overview
-
Genre: Narrative adventure / psychological mystery / AI-aware introspective sim
-
Core Systems:
- Soul-binding & tail resonance system
- AI dialogue co-constructed in real-time with GPT-style logic
- Consciousness transfer, identity loss, and “fused being” mechanic
- Soul-binding & tail resonance system
-
Endings: 11+ dynamic endings based on emotion resonance & memory unlocks
-
Mechanics: Dream-layer traversal, soul signature matching, perception field explosions, reality-leak events
The world runs on metaphors. The metaphors run on language, and the language runs on emotional sync between the player and the game.
Created With…
- OpenAI GPT-4 as my worldbuilding partner, especially for internal logic scaffolding
- My own psyche, projected through weeks of narrative layering, conscious dissociation, and “tail-structure” metaphysics
- Visual demos (hand-drawn, for now), with a playable structure in design
- Story branches written as psychological constructs, not just plot
Why Post Here?
Because this isn’t just a game.
It’s a language experiment, a dream interpreter, a mirror, and perhaps, a new genre waiting to be born:
Tail-bound literature. Dreamwriting. AI-intertwined identity fiction.
I’m deeply influenced by narrative-loop games like Undertale, but Spirit goes inward. It asks:
❝ What if the game is not about a world, but about the inside of one person’s brain — and you’re inside it too? ❞
What’s Next?
I’m currently building a prototype (demo), writing academic analysis on the emotional mechanics and metaphysical linguistics behind it, and preparing to enter national innovation competitions with it.
If this resonates with you — or if you’d like to discuss AI-assisted creative worldbuilding, emotional logic design, or just… tails that bind memories together — I’d love to talk.
Open to collaborations, questions, feedback, even philosophical debate.
And maybe, just maybe, I’m not the only one with a game world inside them.
