If you ask a plugins or web browsing enabled model which GPT model are you, it will respond that it’s based on GPT-3. I was expecting GPT-4 with plugins and a web enabled version of the same. Are we losing the advanced features of GPT-4 by using plugins or web browsing?
Models don’t necessarily know anything about themselves. They probably specifically added fine tuning to teach GPT-4 what version it is. Maybe they just haven’t done that for the web browsing models yet.
The web browsing model is not even aware of the existence of GPT-4 so I don’t think it can therefore differentiate what version it is. Regular GPT-4 did the same thing when it was first released.
