Open AI , when a plugin land in the Open AI to review queue – nothing happens ! In my case we developed a plugin , realised after a few customers tested our connector is not good enough – fixed the issues they experienced stayed within the dev guidelines and policies released a new version , but now our new version is stuck in a queue to nothingness for review by Open AI. we logged support cases countless follow ups , only to be told hurry up and wait. we even canceled the build – redeveloped the connector again – but again goes into the queue to nothingness of review. All this brought us to halt in product launch – we don’t know when review will happen if it will happen. We just know you teams say – it’s under review. A rejection would be much easier to work with – ie we don’t comply fix it. However a review queue to nothingness !!! as a platform company Open AI can do better.
Update — 29 September: Axiomyx Personal v1.3.0 was submitted on 17 September and still shows Review today, with no request for changes or other developer action. The published v1.1.0 remains available, but we cannot ship the connector fixes in 1.3 while this update is pending.
We kept the submission active and followed up through Support. The latest AI-assisted response could only repeat the public portal status; it could not confirm whether the review job is progressing, stalled, or waiting on a particular check. I have requested a human review of that question. I am not asking for approval without review—I am asking for an actionable status and a way to tell a normal queue from a stuck submission.
Could someone from the Plugin Directory team check whether this 1.3 review is validly queued and whether anything is required from us? More broadly, developers need a visible stage or blocker, a last-updated timestamp, and a clear escalation route when a submission remains unchanged. Even a rejection with reasons would let us act; an indefinite “Review” does not.
If other developers are seeing the same pattern, please share how long your update has been pending and whether Support could confirm anything beyond the portal status.
Update — 30 September:
Across successive Axiomyx Personal v1.2.0 and v1.3.0 submissions, we have now been waiting 25 days and 20 hours—and counting—since the first v1.2.0 submission on 4 September.
v1.2.0 never received a completed review outcome. v1.3.0 was submitted on 17 September at 22:27 UTC and still shows Review, with no request for changes or other developer action.
OpenAI Support has acknowledged our cases and says the matter was forwarded to the appropriate department, but there is still no visible or confirmed review action, no completed decision, and no answer on whether the review job is active, stalled, awaiting a human, or blocked by a check.
We are not asking OpenAI to bypass review. We are asking OpenAI to perform or diagnose the review and give developers an actionable status. After nearly 26 days across successive submissions, please confirm:
- Whether the review is validly queued and active.
- Whether anything is required from us.
- The owning team or escalation reference.
- The next checkpoint.
“Review” without a stage, blocker, last-updated time, or escalation path is not an operational review process.
