Our plugin SSHOW (v2.0.0 published) submitted v3.0.0 several weeks ago. It’s still “In review” and we haven’t received any feedback email.
On the MCPs tab, two existing tools (apply_actions, control_show) show “This tool update needs further review before it can go live” since the Oct 2 scan. The Live definition view says “An earlier definition is live, but its JSON is unavailable.” The other 16 tools are live.
We’ve already escalated a case through help.openai.com support.
Has anyone seen held tool updates like this get resolved? Did you need to change something on your side, or did they clear once the version review finished?
@OpenAI_Support plugin ID plugin_asdk_app_6a9a9af423b0819195523f55515febd0, in case it helps.
Have you checked whether the two held tools show any specific finding under Issues / Held update?
Also, what changed in apply_actions and control_show compared with their currently live definitions — schema, descriptions, permissions, or action behavior?
Since the other 16 tools are still live, the difference between these two and the rest may help narrow down what triggered the additional review.
Hi @bb520bbe7792c8209500— I understand why this is frustrating, especially after waiting several weeks and already contacting Support.
Once a plugin is submitted, it enters the review queue. Review timelines can vary, and there isn’t a specific timeframe we can provide for completion.
You can continue monitoring the status in the plugin submission portal, and you’ll receive an email if there are any updates or if additional information is needed.
For the two tool updates that are currently held, please also check the Issues / Held update section in the portal for any specific findings or actions required. If no findings are shown, there may not be anything further needed from your side while the review remains in progress.
At this time, plugin reviews cannot be expedited through Support.
