Our organization is a consistent openAI customer and we are tier five. it’s been almost two weeks now and we still do not have access to the full o1 model in the api. at least provide a timeline so I know when I will get it

Access is being randomly rolled out, I also have not yet recived access, but it will happen over the next few weeks.

They have done a poor job communicating this, with all honesty.
It was communicated very differently in all places I’ve seen.
A bit frustrating.

I think you’re right.
I can understand why companies like OpenAI and Google might hesitate to announce the release of their next big models in advance. However, why should updates like API access or changes to the ChatGPT canvas be kept secret or communicated unclearly?
The market for LLMs is maturing while still growing rapidly. Providing a clear timeline for the release and rollout of new features in advance would be incredibly helpful.

Hey guys, same issue here. Upgraded to Tier 5 by spending over a $1,000 on the API specifically to have access to the full o1 model, only to find out it’s not available yet. 
Definitely frustrating!

same here. Tier 5. no clue about when it is coming out. No way to plan anything ahead. Just confusing. Same with the “Teams subscriptions” now penalized with no option to have some converted to Pro accounts. just because we chose to consolidate the account in a Team (at an additional cost btw). sorry for ranting on your post. We are not even asking for more speed, just for more clarity.

same here. it feels like there’s disconnection between the shipmas showoff and the engineering promise. with all the floods of investments and boosts in income, I honestly thought openai engineers would be (or at least were expected to be) more responsive and productive, even despite holidays…

I don’t understand this, we are waiting for it for very long and this is why we are paying so much as Tier 5, so we could get access to the latest and greatest.

Hopefully OAI doesn’t turn into one of those companies promising the stars and coming out short, because miscommunication between users and the platform = bad leadership = not looking good structure wise.
The wait continues… In my mind they’re probably swamped with o3 and Enterprise.
I think I have about 7 days left in me before I am just sad haha.
GTA VI will arrive before we have o1 haha

They said a few weeks when launched. That would point to TODAY as the deadline on the original tweet. A few = 3 the last time I checked. but it still makes me wonder if o3-mini which is supposed to launch this month and be better and cheaper will take forever to roll out too. I wonder if all other future releases will follow this same BAD role out plan where 99% of us have to wait weeks or longer to get access. This is one thing OpenAI needs to vastly improve on. When you announce something new and is said to be available ANY paying API customer should be able to access right away even with very small rate limits. Even as a pro user I should get access. I have access to the model anytime I need it in a chat interface even pro mode. but still don’t have API access.
