This morning I started getting a popup in ChatGPT whenever a response is fully loaded. It is incredibly annoying, covering the top 1/4 of the chat window and blocking the text I was reading.
It serves no useful purpose, and I would request that it please be removed.
yeah, I relay the feeling. It is completely making it unusable. I thought it happened only in incognito mode but it’s happening in regular chats as well.
Please, if it has annoyed anyone else (and I am sure it has), post it here so that it comes to the attention of the team that was responsible for it.
At least the Product Manager should realize how bad an idea this was and the person who came up with it should really reconsider future feature additions.
Extremely intrusive and annoying! Toasts are meant for something that occurred that requires a visible confirmation or if you’re not observing the action.
This does not apply to an ongoing active conversation.
This is equivalent to receiving a notification for every single message you receive on discord, slack or any other DM service when NOT focusing on said conversation.
But we ARE directly engaging in this conversation.
I’m glad I’m the only one who didn’t find it absurd.
Anyone here with ideas that we can employ within our own browsers? i.e through Javascript injection or something to automatically block the popups? I do not trust these guys to roll back, or at least in time.
If I had to guess, they added this for some app or similar thing that wraps the web-UI. Instead of implementing it natively, they just throw it on everything and now those of us using ChatGPT in a browser have this pointless noise constantly.
In general, I’m not sure what the designers were trying to accomplish, but they certainly succeeded it creating something annoying and distracting. No setting to disable it, I hope that comes very soon. They should revert this until it can be turned off.
