Open AI usage and billing reporting on admin dashboard is inaccurate and other subscription deactivated issues

Not sure, if anyone is having issues with usage and billing reporting on admin dashboard. Lately we are trying our hand at monitoring the costs, only to realise the reporting is mired with discrepancies. I found some threads on here which talks about “other models” usage being doubly charged (Being overcharged on other models despite seeing 0 usage on dashboard - #13 by baskaranauc). Some resolutions suggests in refreshing the api keys.

The other issues, Then without notice one of our organization got taken offline, also content getting flagged (they didn’t even let us know what got flagged). We reached out to help desk.

we were able to hear from Open AI regarding the flagged content and mitigated the issue for the moment.

However, there is no explanation as to the billing and usage discrepancies. Also, no explanation as to why one of our Organisation is deactivated.

We did implement segregation of our use cases in to different projects, and also started logging the prompt/completion/total token returned from Open AI. However, clearly we could see the calculations we do based on our logged usage and the usage reported on the dashboard is definitely off(we are billed 10 - 20% considering the billing is varied based on cached/uncached tokens).

For several days, usage hasn’t been showing up for many.

Hopefully the current situation is “this is so screwed up, with people being billed autorecharges of hundreds of dollars from bad accounting and unconnected billings of thousands, we just made everything affected on the API free” instead of usage and surprise to show up days later.

Lesson: if you process a billion dollars a year, don’t have an open-door buddy-buddy hiring policy for past employees from that billing services provider with equity stakes.
