I am going to say this is a bug since we don’t have the option to use the mini as default.
I have noticed that GPT-4o (standard) is significantly less accurate compared to GPT-4o (mini). As a non-premium subscriber, I find the mini version to be more reliable and suitable for my needs.
I am frustrated by the prompts indicating that I reached the maximum number of responses with GPT-4o (standard). I don’t want to use it at all. It hinders what I want to do.
Put another way, I dislike being forced to use GPT-4o when I would prefer to turn it off entirely. With the previous “mini” version, I don’t encounter these annoying prompts. My results were good.
If the makers of ChatGPT want to encourage users to upgrade, the current performance of GPT-4o (standard) will not motivate me to do so.
