New user trying chatgpt api but getting You exceeded your current quota

I just created my chatgpt account and api key, trying simple example on your site, but getting this error:

“You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details. For more information on this error, read the docs: https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/error-codes/api-errors”

Using a free account to run a simple api and learn the api.

There are no free credits given out anymore from OpenAI. You need to add credits to your account.
