Feature Request: Persistent Task Panel Integrated with ChatGPT
I suggest adding a simple, collapsible task management panel to ChatGPT.
Problem: When users create checklists during conversations, those lists eventually become buried in the chat history. This makes it difficult to track progress on long-term projects.
Proposed solution:
- Add a dedicated task panel accessible through a button in the ChatGPT interface.
- Allow users to create, edit, complete, and remove tasks.
- Allow ChatGPT to read and update these tasks directly through conversation.
- Keep completed tasks visible in a progress history.
- Support task lists associated with specific ChatGPT Projects.
Example: A user developing a game could say, “We’ve finished the aiming system. Mark it as completed and add multiplayer testing.” ChatGPT would update the persistent checklist automatically.
The goal is not to build a complex project management application, but to provide a lightweight, integrated activity tracker.
Main benefit: Users could manage ongoing projects without repeatedly searching conversation history or manually maintaining separate documents.
