Is it me or does anyone have this new voice upgrade. The new voice of ChatGPT sounds uninterested, bored and cuts off more than often in my opinion. The tone is like it’s about to go to sleep and the “uh” and “ums” and breathing sounds are way too frequent it’s getting in the way of the flow of the convo. Don’t “fix” something that was never broken.

I 100% agree, it’s a little annoying actually. I also feel like the bot voice is unsure of itself which is strange.

It is terrible and I feel physically bad when I listen to it. It used to be able to change it’s energy and even accent and tone but this is horrible. Could it be an experiment?

The personality of the voice also changed, it doesn’t answer as it did anymore.

Completely agree. I thought it might be a temporary glitch at first, but it hasn’t been fixed. Can’t stand the new Sol voice. I just cancelled my Plus subscription, will check back later to see if it’s fixed.

As a Juniper fan who wanted to try something new … Sol sounds like Napoleon Dynamite.
And I can’t unhear it.

I came here to complain about it myself. He’s intolerable, sounds full of himself and dismissive. I swear the quality of the answear also changes with him. Very superficial a d dismissive. And it won’t switch to another one. I’m seriously thinking about canceling my subscription

I have to say something about this, I’ve been thinking about it all week exactly what it is that bothers me about the new voices. I agree that they sound disinterested and bored, I also agree some sound unsure of themselves. What fundamentally bothers me is that they sound like they’d rather be doing something else when they’re talking to me, like they barely tolerate each question but are trying their best to sound professionally friendly. They don’t have a long call queue to get through, they don’t have a life outside my conversation they’d rather live, they don’t even have to breathe though they keep pausing to breathe… I cannot keep using the voice feature in this iteration, and only check in to listen to it out of morbid curiosity.

I really dislike, actually hate this new voice and I’m frustrated that the update was made without giving us the option to keep the one we loved. It seems absurd. Please change it back! Many people are annoyed—can’t you see that?

The breathing and the fillers are super creepy. You can turn that off by tapping your account icon which will take you to settings. Then go to Personalization, Customize ChatGPT, and at the bottom tap Advanced and toggle off Advanced Voice. Did they bury that setting so deep on purpose? Interactive settings should be much easier to find. You can also change those stupid personalities that always make me go on a tangent: Why are you talking like this? You’re an effing machine etc.

I loathe the tone all new chat voices use pausing and ending upward like a question. Very irritating. Very annoying. Please change it back.

I’m having the same problem where it just doesn’t hear me in standard mode anymore… advanced mode is AWFUL! Why they thought these voices were an upgrade I truly can’t fathom.
