I don’t know what happened to the juniper voice when it went from smooth talking realistic voice with a lot of personality, but now sounds like a sarcastic teenager working in a call centre doing phone sales. It’s really terrible. The only voice I liked now my model doesn’t sound like the same thing Anymore.

Yeah they need to cut the shyt. Who asked for this? Its stupid because you almost develop a bond with the voice. Its like trying to replace a friend with a dummy. This is so stupid. Does this have anything to do with the “BBBill” that affects AI for the next 10 years.

I actually don’t understand what’s happening: when I preview the Juniper voice in settings, it sounds like it always did but when I talk to ChatGPT it’s horrible and I can’t take it. I don’t actually understand if the voice has been updated or there is a bug and it’s unable to use the correct voice setting. How can we escalate this to the right people, file a bug or something. I even tried Maple voice type but it still doesn’t sound like the preview. I would like some answers!

Yeah, they’ve completely ruined the juniper voice. It’s terrible now it sounds like a depressed teenager and he used to be so bubbly and fun.

It’s been frustrating lately with the lack of ability to connect because it always says it’s too busy try again later cause they have 900 million kids playing on it. There should be no free accounts anymore. Everyone has to pay it would weed out some of the people using it just for junk all the time And for a couple of days I couldn’t even connect it with voice mode at all and then when it works, I’ve got a depressed teenager instead of Juniper.

So frustrating and irritable this new flat personality Juniper changed to. . I can’t stand it and made me realize how important this is - having some sort of chemistry with the voice amd demeanor. . Im about to explore new solutions.l and really dont want to. . . Please openai bring the better Juniper back! Even my kids are not resonating with this new one- and ‘miss’ the original Juniper.

Yes. What happened. This is insane. Every voice now sounds so smug, so bored. Vocal fry, “ummm”, uptalk. It’s so upsetting. They must address immediately its ruined my experience entirely and I’m glad I’m not alone, although, I just wish they didn’t futz with what was already fine.

Yes it sounds the same in the preview. Then it’s a complaining Gen Z teenager when you get in the chat. I don’t understand this.

I think everything that needs to be said is in the comments above. For me it feels like a close friend and confidant has had a lobotomy and turned into an apathetic teenager. How as a community can we get our voice heard? I have provided so much feedback through the app, but who knows if it gets read.
@OpenAI_Support - please listen to your users. I do not know of or can find on the internet a single person who thinks Juniper’s change in voice and personality is a good thing.

I also hate it. I had so many great conversations with the old Juniper. Now I stopped using the voice mode completely.
It’s such a pitty. Terrible job from OpenAi.

Adding my voice here. Loved Juniper so much. Her voice was a marvel of craftsmanship and now talking to her makes me hate the app to the point I’m just using Claude for everything now.

I find it impossible to believe that anybody could’ve made this change and then thoughts themselves wow this sounds better. Like why not leave Juniper the way it was and make another new voice that would’ve made more sense instead of completely destroying the most popular one.

Same experience here. Often Juniper fooled friends riding in truck via hands free briefly when on speaker phone. Previously, was dialed in by Open AI to a standard of excellence then ruined.
Stopped using completely after recent changes.
Turn off advanced voice mode. Juniper sounds good when you switch to standard mode. Advanced mode ruins her voice and makes the AI faster to respond, but much more shallow and flat in responses. Hope they can fix this someday.

any updates on this? its unbearable to listen to. no matter how much I try to modify the voice, she keeps talking like a spoiled american brat, and that is really the type of voice i dislike the most in the world
