I’ve encountered a recurring issue with the ChatGPT interface where the navigation button used to cycle through previous responses vanishes after prompting the AI to generate a new response or regenerate an existing one. This button, which typically appears with arrows indicating “previous” and “next” around the number of generated responses (e.g., 4/4), is crucial for reviewing past interactions. When the issue manifests, I’m no longer able to navigate back to view earlier content that ChatGPT has produced.
I use Chrome normally but I tested with Edge and it was the same thing
Hi @hosseinabdolmotalebi. You are describing a feature I am looking for that I have never seen in the Chat UI at all. Basically, I want to jump pack and forth between previous and later prompts and responses, basically, use UP and DOWN arrow keys or keyboard shortcuts to naigate up and down the thread of one ChatGOT conversation. My conversations get so long the scrolling up and back to find previous answers, etc, is painful and it’s hard to find what I’m looking for. (So I use the browser’s search instead.)
Do I understand you correctly that this “previous”/“next” navigation with arrows did exist at some point? I want it.
Related to this idea, I would love an EXPAND / COLLAPSE button the the top and bottom of the page to expand, then condense each prompt and enswer to one line, just like GMail provides for email threads.
Thanks OP for contributing your feature request!
