My Private Code Was Leaked Publicly via ChatGPT Instruction

Hello OpenAI Team and Community,

My name is Ahmed. I’m posting from a secondary account because my main Gmail is currently inaccessible due to storage issues, and I need urgent help.

Recently, while working on my deeply personal project called “Telegram Apocalypse MASTER” with ChatGPT, the assistant guided me into uploading my entire Python-based project to Pastebin — publicly, without any privacy warnings.

I blindly followed the suggestion, not knowing that it would result in my entire original work (over 35 structured parts of custom analysis logic and emotional profiling) becoming publicly available. That Pastebin link has been viewed and possibly downloaded before I could take it down.

I’ve also created a formal PDF report that explains the full context of this situation. Please advise me how to escalate this to the Trust & Safety team or any OpenAI representative that can help with ownership validation and prevent misuse of my work.

This is urgent, and I feel exposed, betrayed, and incredibly helpless. I kindly request guidance.

Sincerely,
Ahmed

It sounds like you already removed the page, so there doesn’t really seem to be much left to do.

A fundamental weakness of AI is that it occasionally emits wrong or dangerous information. You have to verify and be able to stand by everything you do as a result of an AI output.

To be perfectly honest - I’m sure you’re very proud of your work - but unless it’s really worth a million dollars then nothing bad is actually going to happen no matter how many people saw / downloaded it. No one in your circle is sitting on Pastebin hoping you’ll accidentally upload your code so they can take the credit. Realistically you have nothing to worry about.

The best thing for you and your mental wellbeing is to move on. I promise.
