Locked out by MFA - no Authenticator/recovery code access, paid subscriber (Case 13570757)

I’ve been a ChatGPT Plus subscriber for over a year, and I’ve been locked out of my account since August 21, 2026. I’ve always signed in with Google, and in the past I always verified my identity using an email code. Recently that option disappeared: the MFA screen now only shows “Authenticator app” and “recovery code,” and I no longer have access to either.

I opened a support ticket (Case 13570757) and provided: a log of my sign-in attempts, a screenshot of the MFA screen, and an anonymized HAR file. Support confirmed they cannot manually disable, reset, or bypass MFA at that support tier, which I understand for security reasons, but it leaves me completely locked out of a paid account containing all my saved conversations.

I’ve seen other users report the exact same issue (the email verification option disappearing) in recent threads on this forum. Could someone from staff help escalate case 13570757?

Thank you.

I’m facing with the same issue here, I’m not sure why the MFA authentication is much more rubbish compared to other sites or competitor.

I can’t even access to my account anymore because this authenticator wasn’t even popping up on my Microsoft authenticator.

The solution should be pretty simple, no? whoever enable MFA, should be able to get another code from their own email to enter and login bypassing the MFA. Now im completely locked out of my account. Sending them proof of ownership for the account also did nothing. I’m a paid subscriber and I just renewed my subscription yesterday. What a waste.
