Let's watch it together: 1st day of Shipmas today at 10 AM PST (05 Dez '24)

same, UIUX team always knocks it out of the park

Good question, I’m not sure. There were times where it was released to the API before ChatGPT and the Playground. For instance, the o1-preview model didn’t appear in the “available models” but as a tier 5 I was capable of sending requests to it. Doesn’t seem to be the case here, but I gave it a shot.

API is not ready yet. Coming soon, I’ve heard… No definition on “soon”!

By the way: if there is a more expensive tier for ChatGPT maybe there will also be a cheaper one.

Cheaper than FREE?!

But yeah, maybe? More tiers are usually good.

cheaper then free == getting paid to use it

would be cool to see cash rewards for those contributing to high quality training data

For sure.

Hope you don’t mind I merged the threads!

I’ll try to make it live for tomorrow’s thread! Went well, I think!

Several users, including BPS_Software, discuss the implications for team accounts and express a desire for more flexible pricing options.

During the event, various users share live updates about the presentations, showcasing excitement for what was revealed. The stream generates a mixture of joy and humor, as seen when thiago shares a light-hearted dad joke about Santa’s prompt engineering. Throughout, users express hope for future model releases and functionality, with discussions also touching on potential API availability.

@PaulBellow Any ideas when the PRO plan is going to drop? or was it just a demo?

I’m not sure. I saw the API mention on Tweeter. I can dig up the link if you want.

We’ll try to dig up more details, though.

Cheaper in the sense that 20$ are a lot more in many countries across the globe

“That dude” had a disposition that did not suit the role he had been assigned by a previous forum administrator, make forum engagements less enjoyable, moving from target to target with harassments. The account was deregistered and anonymized by the same method that Discourse-based forums use to “forget me” to comply with GDPR personal data requirements (however, OpenAI admin won’t use that method to actually fulfill “delete my account please” requests).

I’m pessimistic - that we already have that cheaper tier. How long does "o1-preview" survive at original capabilities when there is a non-preview o1 tier at 10x the cost?

Hype like this thread so far doesn’t serve any forum purpose except displacing other developer concerns - something implemented on API and placed by OpenAI in “announcements” is what we should be looking for.

I just used o1 for the first time and it does follow the custom instructions.
That’s positive.

Sorry to hear that you just can’t see it that way.

a bit off topic, but that seems off… to get your account deleted you can’t ask for it, you’ll have to harass the community pretty badly it seems. doesn’t seem like a good policy

I don’t think I can agree with you on this one, that is, if you mean this thread as a whole, as in the first oai xmas day thread. I find it quite nice, many other topics are so low effort that they can be resolved by just asking any modal after gpt-3.5-turbo…

Well, realised it’s day 2 today at 9:30, that was exciting. I used up all my o1 credits until the 9th in about 60 minutes (My questions clearly weren’t very complicated) but I did manage to relocate the datacentre to Titan on my last credit.
