Consensus seems to be some form of flash model is appearing this week?

I wonder will there be be a GPT4.5 over the next while - surely there is given theres eight days to go and the two known big-hitters have already arrived.

If there is not at least a genuine GPT4.5 announced imho that would signal a major slowdown in the industry (that many of us have been suspecting in any case)

I guess the strength of the new model will be understood by how long in 12 days they wait before launching it. If its the last day then its an absolute barnstormer.

O1 not as good as o1-preview for problem solving

And a rather pricey one at that!

The link to the stream is available and the original post has been updated.

Sam is live today. Usually that would be indicative of an announcement that requires special attention.

Guesses;

I think the last day will be something about agents.

Boo!

Apple integration.

Apple is a sub-par company with an atrocious human rights record.

It deeply saddened me to see OpenAI hitch their wagon to such a bad horse.

I would have hoped that nearing 2025 we would have dispensed with this ignorant Apple only or Apple first mentality, but I guess not.

Please stay on-topic.

I also don’t have any apple devices but that’s not up for discussion here and now.

Thank you for your understanding.

Maybe I can scoop one of the days by preparing you for “developer instructions” on o1 models - for you, the “product consumer”, not something as trusted as placing a true system message that could usurp the reasoning or prompt inspection and rejection based on internal policy turns…

on the {N} day of xmas, my true love gave to me…
… token-based conversation input budgeting on Assistants, based on the same token length consideration OpenAI must internally use to not exceed a model’s context window capability with chat history.

It is on topic.

This is an Apple announcement, not an OpenAI announcement.

Discussion of Apple is warranted.
