I have a system connected to the 4o mini model, and I’m facing issues with the chatbot’s responses in Kurdish. It’s worth noting that the translation works well when using ChatGPT, even the beta version provides better responses than the model connected to the system.

As there is only one -mini model offered, and you report that it cannot perform the task of passively replying in the desired language, you have the choice of:
using a high-quality system prompt, defining the AI’s purpose and job as being a native Kurdish speaker conversation partner, or a translator, with example exchanges, with varying amounts of English and Kurdish in the system prompt until you have good native skills, or
provide user/assistant exchanges in the chat history that demonstrate fluency, or
use a larger model that preserves more training knowledge, such as gpt-4o-2024-05-13 or try gpt-4-turbo, or
both improved prompt and performative model.
World languages with less pretrained writings are more difficult, but I hope you will find a good solution.
