TITLE:
Feature Request: Keep the Current Chat Title Visible in the Chat Header While Scrolling
DESCRIPTION:
I would like to suggest a simple but important usability improvement for ChatGPT: keep the current conversation title permanently visible at the top of the chat interface while the user is scrolling through the conversation.
PROBLEM:
When working with many ChatGPT conversations, especially long conversations inside Projects, it is easy to lose track of which chat is currently open.
The conversation title is visible in the sidebar, but when I am deep inside a long conversation, I have to scroll back to the top or look at the sidebar to confirm which conversation I am working in.
This becomes increasingly inconvenient for users who use ChatGPT as a long-term workspace and have dozens or hundreds of conversations.
PROPOSED SOLUTION:
Display the current conversation title as a persistent header at the top of the chat window.
The title should remain visible while scrolling through the conversation.
For example:
Conversation content
The header could remain fixed at the top of the conversation, similar to the way other applications keep the current document or conversation name visible.
OPTIONAL ENHANCEMENT:
It would be even more useful if the header could show:
Project name → Chat title
For example:
Farah Realtors → Máquina de Contenido
or:
AI Research → AI Comparison Matrix — Phase 2
WHY THIS MATTERS:
This would significantly improve navigation and orientation in long conversations.
It would be especially useful for:
• Users with many conversations
• Users working inside Projects
• Long-running projects
• Professional users who use ChatGPT as a workspace
• Users who frequently switch between multiple related conversations
I believe this is a relatively small interface change that could make ChatGPT considerably easier to navigate for users with complex, long-term workflows.
REFERENCE / COMPARISON:
Claude already displays the current conversation title in the upper part of the interface, which provides a useful visual reference while working inside a long conversation.
I would appreciate seeing a similar navigation aid in ChatGPT.
Thank you for considering this feature request.
