Is the recent announcement going to make image recognition available from API

I desperately need a way to pass an image to Chat-GPT and have it analyzed, but my entire app is from API (no Chat-GPT customer-facing in it). It seems that the recent announcement is making a big deal about the fact that Chat-GPT UI/UX will now allow image processing. I need this from an API. Maybe even adding a simple POST variable to add an image in it would be enough.

Will this happen soon/one day?

Hi and welcome to the developer forum.

I would imagine it will be added soon, there has been no official announcement so we do not know yet, when or if this will happen.

The latest rumor is that this will happen next month (November), which would coincide with the DevDay on November 6.
