I noticed that when copying output from the iOS app, it used to retain markdown formatting, which was super helpful. However, it seems this behavior has been changed, likely for users unfamiliar with markdown. That said, many of us still rely on markdown, so it would be great if there were an option to toggle markdown output in the settings instead of removing it altogether.
Is anyone else experiencing this new behavior, or is it just me?
I want to chime in on this issue as well … previously, when I copied output from the app and pasted it into apps like Bear, the Markdown was perfectly formatted. However, for the past few months, the formatting has been broken.
As a workaround, I’ve been using Safari on my iPhone to access ChatGPT, where copying the output preserves the correct Markdown formatting. While this works, it’s inconvenient.
I hope this issue can be prioritized in a future update to the iOS app. It would save a lot of time and improve the experience for those of us who rely on proper Markdown formatting.
I was talking about the wanting the old actual markdown source being copied. Probably this should because setting or a long press : plain, richtext or markdown
