The integration of ChatGPT in IOS was much better before the ‘official integration.’
Previously, you could activate ChatGPT by saying, ‘Hey Siri, ask ChatGPT,’ and Siri would read the responses as if ChatGPT were powering Siri’s brain. You could even interrupt Siri mid-sentence, and it would stop and ask ChatGPT again. Even before advanced voice mode Siri would almost act like it had some kind of voice mode because it was interruptible.
Before this so-called ‘improvement,’ Siri was seamlessly integrated with ChatGPT and could directly use chatGPT as the thing controlling Siri responses.
Now, the system only displays text responses, making ChatGPT a burden to use on the iPhone when asking Siri a question. If this is the direction Apple AI is heading, it’s going to be a long and disappointing journey.
