Good bots are very hard to write… I remember tools like ‘Submit Wolf’ historically that automated submissions to search engines, ‘links pages’ and ‘guestbooks’ (remember those?)…
The reality is that there has to be value behind them for people to maintain and develop them… If the bot is actually providing value the community will support it, if it isn’t the community will ignore it…
I am all for ‘smarter than human’ bots that are helpful… why would that be a problem?
In fact smarter than human bots would be marked as such because that makes the developer of the bot look pretty smart… That’s where we move forward further to Do other developers dream of an 'AI Curated' forum?
The most important thing probably is to be part of the community now before that happens… Certainly bias always exists… Just as a forum member builds trust over time… So indeed in theory should (lets refine the distinction a little) an agentic agent.
If in doubt… Check the forum or user stats and see whether the account is really contributing well!
