I uploaded images to a project in hopes that I can have the AI use it as reference. However, asking about it, ChatGPT is aware of it, the filename is correct, however it can’t seem to open it or get context from it, like it can from text based files. It only produces hallucinations.
Images uploaded during conversation works fine, but images from the project do not.
I tried png, jpg, the contents of it is a simple cat. I tried 4o, o1, and 4.5, neither seemed to see the image correctly. I tried suggesting to use analysis, and somehow it managed to copy the image into the conversation, after which it could describe it, but asked to analyse it without copying to the project, and it hallucinated. The fact that it managed to copy the image proves that the upload is intact, however it couldn’t do anything with it.
It’s worth noting, that there isn’t a thumbnail generated for the image either in the list of files, but I remember when I first uploaded an image months ago, it had created a thumbnail for it. So this tells me something broke in the meantime.
