I was unexpectedly charged $66 on my bill, even though I had only set it to top up a fixed amount of $5 once. I’m not sure why this larger amount was deducted and would like assistance in resolving this issue

Same error as you, seems to be the credit card thing.
OpenAI has provided a credit level and let it be Credit and when we use it it will be deducted 7 days later.
I wish OpenAI would leave it as it is instead of displaying the credit balance as a reward then getting it back by deducting it from the credit card
This auto-recharge could originate from billing system problems where the remaining balance isn’t being shown correctly for others, also reported here on the forum.
Or the funds are simply gone by flaws in the whole system.
Also cleverly daft that they closed up the expiration of purchases to not be at the end of the month. No more getting actually up to 13 months.
And in the screenshot, is it that the credits purchased later actually expire sooner in Sept 2025?

If you are here, likely too late though. Nobody on the forum can fix individual account problems, that’s the help button in platform.openai.com - where maybe 1000 “helps” might signal a pattern.

My account suddenly had $200 in credit on October 2
They has had comma error. For me such happening fixed quite fast.
