Same issue here, both API keys and Playground not working. Limits are OK, $10 in the account.

A lot of people including me are facing the same issue. Can we get a real solution please.

The forum is filling up with the same problem, but the status page still shows all systems ‘operational’ so everyone please click on help (bottom option on your dashboard, bottom left) to open a trouble ticket. The more tickets we submit, the sooner it will likely be noticed.

Seeing that there is apparently no easy fix for this problem, I guess I will just have to start using Claude instead.

Same problem here. Never got a successful request. Playground not working, API not working both with the same message.
Usage is 0.
Limits are set to the account and project (100 and 50)
$15 of credit
Tier 1. Never been free.

I have the same issue, just created my account, org, paid/added 5 $, the balance shows up in my account, but every time I try to use the chat API I receive the following message:

more than 24 hours now. Multi billion company, can’t answer customers about this problem affecting several users …

Im getting the same error. Lol. I just registered put some credits cant use it , tried my friends key it works.

Same thing here. I just open an account on the API platform to learn how to programming for it and they open a modal to me to choose a plan, I added 5 dollars and it change my card, but give an error message saying the payment are not completed.

But in the account the credits is there, but I’m unable to use the credits with the same “You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details." error.

Than I tried to add more 5 dollars, this time no error message, it just charged my card and added the 5 dollar as credits to my account.
But still the same error.

I tested it with Python, Curl and using the Playgrond on the platform.
All of that give me same error.

All my configurations is just fine, I have the unused credits and the api-key.

When I try to get help and report the bug they only give the same default message that says: there might be an issue on our end with how the credits are being applied to your API usage. Here are a few steps we can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

"Confirm Organization and API Key: Ensure that the API key you are using is indeed linked to the organization where the credits were added. You’ve already done this, but it’s good to double-check. Check Usage and Limits: Review your current usage and limits in the organization to ensure that the credits should indeed be available for use. "

No response after I tell that I checked it all and there is no problem with nothing of it.

It is unbelievable how bad it is… The bug itself, the fact that it is documented here on the forum at least since 2023, and the complete lack of support is unbelievable.

Looks like they got it “fixed” except that to fix it, I had to start again from scratch with a new Organization and build. Then, had to re-enter CC info and take another $10 charge. Now, I’m in though. Hopefully, OpenAI will see it in their hearts to either refund the original $10 I have in the other organization, or to transfer it over to the new one.

I paid 5$ but I can’t access the functions. I already changed the api key and removed the limits and tried to contact via but the bot always responds. I could not get used to lemits as I have never used the functions. I tried to contact via api and Playground, but Playground says You’ve reached your usage limit. I just bought $5 credit couple hours ago and still blocked by insufficient quota. Both using playground and API.

I already tried to create new org, add new API key, update limit, but still no luck.

It’s crazy that this kind of issue has been around for years (read others threads too) and still no clear solution.

Same here ! Fresh account on 01/08/25 , paid 5$ → insufficient quota. Tried everything, paid again 10$, updated limits, made new api keys … It’s not working even in the playground lol. Already send a message to the help center → no answer.
