How does/will the desktop app differ from the online version?

If anyone here has actually been able to use the desktop app, how does it function? Is it any different (better/worse, slower/faster, etc.) than using it from the website?

In the app, you can take a screenshot using the “Pin” button.

You can launch the app with the keyboard shortcut Option + Space.

Unlike the web version, pressing the “Continue” button in the app splits the GPT response into two, which is inconvenient when you need to copy code.

I also couldn’t figure out how to highlight and respond to specific fragments of a message as you can in the web version, which is also inconvenient.

The app often lagged, requiring a restart, but after today’s update, it seems to have improved.

I’m not sure if it’s possible to create your own chats from the app; it seems you can’t, as I had to create them through the web version.

This is everything I’ve noticed so far.

I have been using the Desktop version and quite frequently it freezes while responding to a prompt that requires ChatGPT to produce a detailed response, like a response requiring multiple steps and data presented in Tabular format. OpenAI needs to look into it as, unlike the browser version, you cannot refresh the desk top version. The freezeis never ending…
