GPTs with copyrighted books

When I search for technically focused GPTs and ask what files they have, I can find many GPTs in the store with one or more full published books as knowledge files in GPTs.

  1. How is that allowed to use copyrighted book as a knowledge base in a GPT?
  2. I can download these files too… which makes GPT store a file hosting service for these files?

If you find an issue with a GPT, please use the “Report” option from the GPT’s options:
