I uses ChatGPT for my novels. I just write for fun and it’s wonderful to dive into my lovely novels after long hard days of school works. I created my own GPT and trained it with prompt to make it write good stories in my opinions.
The update in November, 2024 is my perfect time with my novels, the GPT created great stories, every words are perfect, the characters, the designs, the descriptions, the narratives and dialogues with many emotional interjections. Everything is just so good, I spent day after day writing story after story.
But after the latest update, everything changed. I still use the old GPT, same old prompt, but the way it create stories changed so much. Paragraphs are broken with countless sentences and words randomly appeared. One-sentence or one-word paragraphs appeared everywhere despite my effort to tell it in the prompt not to do it. Also the dialogues, once great and dynamic with characters emotions, now becomed either randomly bold and italic or get capitalized for no reason.

" Lingqi stood a few feet away, staring.
Her arms were stiff at her sides. Her fingers trembled slightly.
Her face—twisted in sheer disbelief.
She twitched.
Then she twitched again.
And then—
“What the hell is this?!?!”
Huang barely flinched, blinking up at her before sighing dramatically. “Ugh… Must you yell?” He yawned, stretching his arms before casually flicking his fishing line. “It’s called fishing, ever heard of it?”
This type of writing makes the AI lazier in narrative. It skipped details, narratives got less words, everything get described more poorly or rushed. No matter how much I tried to fix it, it doesn’t work. The GPT ugnored my guidelines, ignored my prompts, it couldn’t know what one-sentence paragraphs are despite the extreme amount of them being used by it.
I’m not good at English so there will be mistake. But I really hope for the developers to fix this. Writing movels is the best way for me to calm and relaxed after hard school days. After weeks of GPT being like this, I cant be relaxed anymore. I believe the developers will fix this soon or just simply revert it back to previous version, I would be so happy.
